(Bottle)

The idea of a message in a bottle is kind of cool. There's an element of hope involved - that the lonely message, carried on random currents to unknown locales, might be found by an arbitrary stranger far, far away. It's possible to order a MIAB on the internet, and have it sent to a known person, but for a true web simulation of the experience, the following web site is amazing:

"Walked out this morning, dont believe what I saw
Hundred billion bottles washed up on the shore
Seems Im not alone at being alone
Hundred billion castaways, looking for a home
Ill send an s.o.s. to the world
Ill send an s.o.s. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah
Sending out at an s.o.s.
Sending out at an s.o.s.
Sending out at an s.o.s.
Sending out at an s.o.s..."

Cool idea. I waited 3 minutes though and the water was moving, the lighthouse was on, but there were no bottles...were you able to get a bottle.

I would be sort of pathetic if, out of all the bottles out there, you picked up your own...

I totally got bottles.
Try keeping a seperate window of it open while you do other stuff. Don't worry, when you get a bottle, it sticks around by the shore and you can retrieve it at your leisure...

One day when Ryan was little he sent up a message attached to a helium balloon. A man who was out in the woods for his first hunting trip found the balloon and the message and called us. He was the owner of a motorcycle shop in Hudson (not where Ry works now) and he invited us all over and gave Ryan gifts from his shop. It was neat to get a response! We've sent out messages in bottles but never got a response. Maybe people could try the balloon trick?
Or is it environmentally worse?
who knows.
